Oh my sweet Benji, he is ONE TODAY and I’m excited and happy and sad and thrilled and all the mom emotions. He’s the sweetest little guy, goes with the flow, and loves his family.
Likes: Climbing, tackling his brother, black beans, snuggles
Dislikes: Being hungry and being left out
Benji has always been a strong eater! He has moved from bottles to much more solid foods, and it’s kind of sad! He eats three bottles a day, about 4 ounces each. He wakes up and is ready to eat breakfast at his high chair- mostly puffs, frozen yogurt bites that I make from greek yogurt, and a veggie pouch of baby food. And before too long he is ready to get down and get moving! An hour or so later, he is ready for a bottle but always gets so distracted by his surroundings that he doesn’t even get through four ounces! He snacks every hour and a half or so and is ready for his second bottle before his nap around noon.
I know that since he is ONE TODAY, he needs to back off the bottles and I don’t think it will be a problem besides his bottle right before bed! We shall see how that goes as we slowly take those bottles away.
Oh Benji, we will get there eventually. On the whole, he gets up twice a night- once around midnight and again around 3:30am or so. Sometimes he goes back to bed easily, but other times he takes about an hour. I think now that he is ONE TODAY we need to start more sleep training so he gets into the swing of things a bit better. I want my sleep back.
This boy likes to move! And he is fast! Crawling is still his fastest mode of transportation, but he is pulling up on everything and walking from thing to thing. Just the other day at the playground he climbed up the slide stairs and slid down on his little belly!
Anything involving water is his favorite right now. The water table in our backyard, the swimming pool, bath time. It’s been so fun to watch him splash and get water on his face, then look up at me to laugh and smile. He has no fear! He crawls right into the beach access portion of our pool and doesn’t look back!
Benji’s schedule hasn’t really changed for the last few months, but I’m hoping pretty soon we can take away all those times he wakes up at night!
Benji has changed so much from month one! And his little smile starts around four months and doesn’t really change, it just gets bigger as he gets older. Sweet, sweet Benji!
I mean, look at all those baby faces! How has he grown so so much?! I can’t wait to spend all day doing things he loves to do. We’re going to fill his crib with balloons, have a birthday breakfast with neighbors, play with friends in our backyard at the water table, and celebrate our little Benji who has been the perfect little guy in our family.
