What a weekend! Being in Kentucky, the Derby has been everywhere and it was fun to watch it this Saturday! But let’s start the weekend wrap up with Friday!
Pizza and a movie is our Friday night family tradition now, so Jude picked out a cute Veggie Tales movie from the library that morning for our evening event! We made pizza dough together and topped them with cheese and turkey pepperoni for a fun picnic in the living room once Matt got home!
I laugh every time I get our old sheet out to spread in the living room over the sofa and rug. It reminds me of my parents doing the very same thing when I was little and we would eat pizza in the living room. And it makes me happy that we are now doing something similar.
I started Saturday off strong, teaching a Body Back class to a group of mamas at 7am. We had a good time sweating it out and starting the day off on the right foot! Then I swung back home to get my two little munchkins to go to Stroller Strides class. After the mamas worked out, there was a super fun painting play date for the kids! A huge roll of paper, washable paint, and fly swatters- and we let the kids go to town! They dipped the swatters into paint and smacked the paper. But two workouts and a play date after, I was tired and we headed home for lunch!
The boys napped but as soon as I shut my eyes for a quick snooze, Benji woke up! That’s the way it always goes, right?! But we played and hung out until Jude finished napping and we all started getting ready for our Derby Party! We attended the sweetest Derby Party at a friend’s house and it was so much fun. She had everything set up so cute, and all the kids played and had a great time. I was too busy eating the yummy snacks that I didn’t take too many photos. But at one point we tried to get all the kids in one shot!
Sunday was nice enough weather to walk to church with the boys, and to have a little picnic on the playground after service. The afternoon was filled with Krogering and a bit of house cleaning. Matt took the boys to the park so I could have some uninterrupted cleaning time at home. Which was actually quite amazing. I forgot how much I could get accomplished in just an hour and a half of no kids! I cleaned all the floors, the kitchen, did laundry, vacuumed all the rugs, dusted the living room, organized some kids’ clothes, and picked up all of Jude’s toys. I can’t wait for some more spurts of alone-cleaning-time so I can tackle some organizational things that have been on my brain!
And that pretty much wraps up our weekend! Now I’m going to soak up today with the kids, since today is the last day of my baby being 10 months. That’s right- he is 11 months tomorrow and I just can’t deal! There will be his monthly update tomorrow on the blog!
