It amazes me how much my family loves our kids. Of course they love on our kids, because they are the grandparents, the aunts, the uncles. But I’m talking about the rocking the baby in the middle of the night, changing stinky diapers, and playing on the floor kind of love. It’s so fun to see.
The boys and I drove up to my parent’s house in Ohio for a few days to hang out while leaving Matt behind at home to go to work and finish a honey-do list! Win-win! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to this long weekend!
It’s been sunny here, but a tad bit cold. But one afternoon it was just warm enough to head to the park in my parent’s neighborhood and play. We had it all to ourselves and Jude insisted on doing everything with his Baba.
Playing in the kitchen
Benji is scooting around everywhere these days and his favorite spot is at the pantry, pulling out all the plastic food store bags and shaking them around to make as much noise as he can. He cracks himself up!
Baba and Grandpa saved a Lego magazine that was sent to their house, and Jude has looked through that thing at least 20 times. He makes up stories about the superheroes and likes to know the names of all the characters.
Visiting the Library
The downtown library is huge, so we loaded up the car and took a trip to check out all the books. We met The Rainbow Fish, played with puzzles, and met Cat in the Hat. I would say it was a super successful trip.
We left Grandpa and Benji at home to nap, while Baba and I took Jude to the Sky Zone trampoline park that just opened up. It was fantastic! There was a toddler-jump hour from 9-10am and Jude ate it up. And so did Baba and I! We jumped into the foam pit and played on the trampolines together. And afterwards we refueled at Tim Horton’s with donuts and coffee.
One afternoon, I left the boys with the grandparents and did some shopping and went to Starbucks for some mommy time. I forget how easy it is to go shopping when I’m alone! It was great to just have a few hours where I could drive around and do whatever I wanted.
Cheers to a new week! Happy Monday!
