Monday is baaaaaack! It always seems like it comes quickly, but sometimes it’s nice to get back into the structure of the week. I felt that way even when I had a traditional job in an elementary school- Monday brought a schedule that I enjoyed and looked forward to sometimes. The wake up call at 5:15am wasn’t always fun, but that hasn’t changed since having kids! That’s still my wake up call most days!
Let’s recap the weekend and relive some of the fun moments!
I started Friday off a little different. Normally we pack up and head out the door by 9am for our Stroller Strides exercise class. But this Friday we met some friends at the library for a fun playdate and toddler crafts. I’m always up for crafts for Jude, but when I do them at home it means I purchase the supplies, get them out, do the craft with Jude, and then clean it up! But when the craft is at the library, I just have to show up! It’s a great way to let Jude experience different crafts without the mess at home!
We hung out at home for the afternoon and cooked a dinner for our friends who just had a baby. We were planning on taking the dinner over as a family, but Jude had a little runny nose and I didn’t want the baby to be exposed to even a cold so I went alone! It was nice to catch up and be able to enjoy some momma time.
Saturday morning started off like it normally does at our house- early and with blueberry pancakes! Which felt even better than normal because it was rainy outside and pancakes just seem like the right decision. Matt took Jude to the Explorium while I stayed at home and worked! I did a major reorganization of all the boys’ clothes. I have a whole post coming on how I organize all the different sizes and seasons, but just know it took all morning and it was fabulous to get that crossed off my to-do list.
Saturday night was a fun one for me! I am helping with the Body Back eight-week session with my exercise class and made some snacks for our orientation night. Right after the orientation, I headed to our Mom’s Night Out of Yoga and Wine! What a fun way to wind down with other mommas, relax a bit, and have some good conversations.
I woke up feeling a little under the weather Sunday morning. Jude has been fighting a cold and a runny nose for a few days, and I think he may have passed it to me! So I stayed home with the boys while Matt went on to church. He worked the soundboard for both services that morning and couldn’t miss! When Benji went down for his morning nap around 9:30am, Jude asked me so sweetly to sit on the couch and read. We did that for about 20 minutes and then said he wanted to snuggle and watch Kung Fu Panda. How can I say no to that? So, we stayed in sweats and wrapped up in a blanket to watch one of his favorite movies.
Once Matt was home, both boys were in bed napping and it was time for me to take a quick snooze to get rid of my sinus pressure and headache. I took zicam every three hours all day and that seemed to help a bit! Have you tried that stuff? You start taking it the moment you feel the start of a cold and it’s supposed to either get rid of it or not make it as severe. Hopefully it kicks this thing to the curb!
We took it easy the rest of the day, hanging with the boys and playing. It was a nice change of pace to be at home and taking it easy!
Hope y’all had a great weekend and are ready to tackle another week! Happy Monday!
