Happy Monday! Hopefully everyone is having an extra day today of weekending and relaxing. Matt is off today and I’m pretty sure out of all of us, Jude is the happiest about it. That boy loves his daddy!
Friday started off with a bang, heading downtown after Matt got off work to go to the library and Triangle Park where there are fountains and places to run and play. Oh, and it’s free. That always helps when trying to find something to do as a family! Jude, Benji, and I played on the train table while Matt picked up a few books for school. Then we walked to the park and enjoyed the perfect weather outside. After a few hours out, we packed back up and headed home for a quick dinner of left overs and put Jude to bed!
Saturday was disrupted by Matt and I not feeling all that great. Stuffy nose, sinus headaches, over-all crumminess… not a great way to start a long weekend! Sleeping in and taking a day off doesn’t really happen with kids, so we just plugged on. We went to Bargain Hunt, searching for some bargains and a few things we have on our list to buy, but had no luck. I did get a little cleanin and organizing done, so that always makes me feel productive!
We did get a surprise visit from Auntie Kelly on her way out of town, and it was glorious! Jude loves his auntie. Our plan was to get moving on a few outdoor projects that we need to finish up, but with the sickness and two kids, time got away from us and we didn’t get too much accomplished. However, it ended up being one of the best days anyway! Just hanging out and being together, doing life. Watching the kids, playing, reading books. It was a good day.
Sunday I woke up not feeling 100% better, but not necessarily worse so we were ready to tackle things again! Jude woke up early again (think 5:15am!) and Matt got up with him and played. Any tips on getting him to sleep later?! We tried putting him to bed at 7:00pm and that worked for a little while and he was sleeping until 6 or 6:30am which was fabulous! The problem is Jude gets tired and cranky, but won’t go down for a nap. So instead, Matt took him on a run to Kroger to grab a few things we needed… he feel asleep in the stroller and that helped him the rest of the day! They also went to a park nearby that has a stream, so obviously it’s Jude’s favorite!
Today I’m feeling a little better, so hopefully we will venture out as a family today for an outing. Probably nothing too strenuous because I still can’t breathe through my nose too well! Happy Monday!
