The nursery was such a fun project to work on together with my hubs. The space started as a blank slate and was fun to watch as we prepared for a baby to come into our lives. We had no idea what we were getting into, but creating this room helped us at least feel like we were ready to be parents.
Normally people have a junk drawer somewhere in their kitchen. Well, this room turned into our junk drawer, but really it was the entire room. And it was where I did some sewing and crafting. But mostly just threw things in there when we moved in without much thought.
But once we found out we were pregnant, the purging began and then the painting and then more purging and some organizing. We also repurposed some old dressers from my college dorm room for the nursery by painting them white. A year later they have held up so well and I couldn’t be happier.
So here are some shots of the final product. It has changed a bit since then, and you can see that progression here.
And of course some before and after shots! Crazy what a little bit of paint and lots of love can accomplish in a room! Some nursery projects we did ourselves are: Adding grommets to the curtains, adding dresser knobs, painting the dressers, and DIY baby mobile.
