Have I told you that my sister purchased Birchbox for me? I get six months of a lovely, little box showing up at my door, each box holding five surprise samples of health and beauty supplies. Yes, it sounds like a dream because it is.
The January box was no disappointment. It held a variety of items I had been wanting to try, but just haven’t gone out and bought. Hence the box.
Harvey Prince Liquid Loofah: This body wash did leave my skin feeling soft, and the citrus-floral scent was nice, but it didn’t lather as much as I like body wash to lather. I like it sudsy. And I used a good amount each use, and it still wasn’t sudsy enough for me. But my skin did feel hydrated after using!
Klorane Tinted Dry Shampoo: Dry shampoo has been around a while, and I have never tried it. So when this sample came in my box I was ready to be wowed. My hair is wavy, and this past Saturday morning came and I was in no mood to take a shower. Perfect- dry shampoo to the rescue. I sprayed, following the directions on the can and thought it would make my hair a frizzy mess. BUT IT DIDN’T! I was able to rock day-old waves on a Saturday morning like I had it together.
Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner: This eyeliner is blue. BLUE PEOPLE- like 80’s blue. What were they thinking?! Then I read the information on this product and realized it was supposed to be blue because it is contrast eyeliner- meaning it is supposed to contrast with my hazel eyes. I love it. Putting blue eyeliner on was scary, but I did it and I love it. Really love it. I feel like it does what it says and brings out my eye color.
Supergoop! Daily Correct CC Cream: This is my favorite product in the whole box. I am blown away by the quality of this CC cream! It goes on like silk, and feels fabulous on my face. I love that it has SPF 35, but doesn’t smell like it does. It is a primer and foundation in one and blows my current BB cream OUT OF THE WATER. Seriously, the full-size bottle is $32, and it just might be worth it. Love the way my skin looks when using this stuff- not too heavy, just the right amount of coverage.
TOCCA Creama da Mano: The hand cream. I wasn’t too crazy about testing this product out, solely because of the scent- grapefruit cucumber. It took me back to the day of Cucumber Melon lotion in the high school locker room. That scent always rubbed me the wrong way. BUT, this lotion rocks. It is smooth and hydrating and the actual scent is refreshing and “absorbs in a flash”, just like the description states.
Overall, the January Birchbox was a homerun for me. I am anxious to see what the February box will bring. Not sure if it can top the CC Cream that is rocking my world, but we shall see.
