I decided to take on a challenge- a 6 week challenge to declutter my house! Since staying at home with Jude for the past 7 weeks on my maternity leave, I’ve been able to really look at my house. I see the clutter. I see the chaos. I see the need! (I am being a little dramatic, but I still need to declutter) Most people would probably say our house isn’t that cluttered. BUT, I feel like sometimes it is. I “put away” things quickly and not necessarily in the best spots. So when it comes time to clean up, it’s a lot harder because everything doesn’t have a specific place to go.
SO- I saw this declutter challenge being shared on Facebook and it was starting this past Sunday. I decided to go for it. There are several versions- a free email version (no longer available), a $5 version for a PDF, and a Kindle version. Free stuff is my thing, so I just signed up for the free emails everyday. The PDF version would have been fabulous though. It contained the whole 6 week challenge in a PDF print-out, which was super organized and looked pretty. Then I could have had a pretty binder to put it all in… but then of course, where in the world do I store that? So, free email version it is!
If you are interested in starting, it isn’t too late! You can join the Facebook group or purchase the PDF version and get on board! Go to this website to get all the information. And poke around her website for a while. You will definitely want to start organizing, decluttering, and beautifying your home after about 30 seconds.
This past week has been a good start on all surface areas. The daily challenges only take 15 minutes. That way you aren’t overwhelmed by all your clutter, just a little bit each day and the difference builds up over time. My surfaces and counters are looking less cluttered already! I am liking the change.
I will keep updates coming on how my decluttering-between-short-naps is going over the next 6 weeks. Hopefully I will have some drastic before and after pictures to show you!
