If I had to choose my favorite wall art in the nursery, it would be the paper cuttings of Emily Wilson. There’s an art fair in Ohio close to where my parents live and it was there we discovered Emily’s talents. On display were many paper cuttings that were whimsical and very intricate. Matt picked up her business card and tucked it away.
Fast forward about a year later, Matt contacts Emily to create a piece specifically for our little guy (who is due in less than a month! AHHH!) He doesn’t let me in on this little secret until Emily has emailed him back with a preliminary sketch of what our paper cutting could look like. I was blown away. Matt gave her a general idea of our nursery and she nailed it with her sketch and signature style. We told her to start cutting right away!
Since our colors are gray, navy, and white in the nursery, we asked the paper cutting be mounted on navy card stock. Once we received it in the mail, we started scheming on what type of frame would look best….
We decided on a shadow box frame. It was a little bigger and looked more substantial on the wall. The paper cutting is 12×12 so it wasn’t too difficult to find a frame that fit.
Thanks, Emily, for the great piece of artwork to make our nursery extra special! If you would like to contact Emily and see what else she has to offer, you can check her website out here! Emily was so easy to work with. She would reply quickly and keep us updated throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend ordering some of her artwork!
