I started a little project a month or two ago and I can finally share it with you! I am impatient when it comes to plants and seeds and growing things, so I am glad to have something to show for my “hard” work. I even forgot about the poor little seeds for a while until they started sprouting. I got so excited when they started to peak through the soil, I started watering them again.
Supposedly lemon plants are fresh, smell clean, and just lighten up any space. Who knew? After I heard that, I planted the next lemon seeds from lemons I used to
squeeze fresh lemonade flavor iced tea. Super easy.
Gather the supplies you need: a mason jar or other small container, soil, and lemon seeds. I took mine straight from a lemon that I had just squeezed out.
Fill that little container with soil.
Add those seeds about 1/2 inch below the surface and water lightly. Then put in a semi-sunny place and watch the magic.
I originally planned to keep mine in the kitchen so it would help with any leftover kitchen smells, but I like it on top of our bookshelf instead. The bookshelf is in our living room right next to the sliding glass door, so there is plenty of sunshine to be had by these little fellas.
Let’s just hope I can keep them alive. I’m not the best with plants.
