Does this Mother’s Day count as my first one? I’m not due until August, but I feel like a mother already. I carry my baby everywhere I go- that has to count, right? I think my husband was thinking along the same lines because he wanted to celebrate it as my first Mother’s Day. And why would I complain?!
I went out shopping yesterday on the hunt for white curtain rods for the nursery. Six stores later, I found the perfect ones. While I was out, Matt was getting my surprise ready. What a sweety. I come home from my hard afternoon of shopping, and he asks “Do you want to see your Mother’s Day gift early?!” Who would say no to that? I love surprises, gifts, and getting things EARLY, so of course I said yes.
He took my outside and showed me the lovely project he had been working on since I was away. And I jumped up and down and laughed and giggled and hugged him. I was so impressed! He had started our herb garden and planted some marigolds in our flower bed by our back porch. I had been wanting to do that for some time now, but I don’t particularly like dirt, bending over is a little uncomfortable, and I don’t know a thing about gardening.
I was so excited that the hubs planned out a special gift for me, did it all on his own, and then surprised me with it. What a perfect first Mother’s Day! Now all I need to do is create cute little signs for the herb garden to label each plant (because, let’s be honest, I am not going to remember which one is which without a label!)
