Why yes, our furniture did get delivered last Tuesday afternoon. It was exciting. Except for the fact that the delivery guys just delivered these huge boxes. For some reason in my mind I was thinking the furniture would be unpacked and sitting in the correct places with all my super stylish clothes neatly folded and organized in all the drawers. Funny thing is, that’s not how they deliver the furniture. Let me show you:
OK- not a huge deal. There are just a ton of cardboard boxes in the room surrounding all the fabulous furniture. So, we took everything out of the boxes. But where do you put the empty boxes? The living room, I suppose.
Tuesday afternoon was when the furniture was delivered. And Tuesday night is when Matt took everything out of the packaging and drilled together the bed so we could sleep in our new room that night. But then every other night this week, either one or both of us had something going on! And we didn’t want to spend Valentine’s Day filling our dresser drawers with clothes, so Saturday was the day to organize!
These are the great nightstands- we got two matching ones, for each side of the bed. Crazy, I know. But before we just had an old nightstand on Matt’s side and a lamp on my side, so it’s a huge change to have matching nightstands. They’re great and have a built-in power strip in the top drawer, which is super handy for chargers and our lamps.
And then the dresser! It’s huge and I love it. We only purchased one dresser partly because we didn’t have enough space in the room to hold more furniture. But mostly because this dresser had plenty of room to hold what we need. And in case it didn’t hold what we need, there is more storage built-in to the bed!
I know this isn’t a new invention, but it feels like it to us. The two drawers at the foot of the bed frame are deep and hold just a few extra things. Perfect for not having a second dresser.
We are super pleased with our purchases and wake up each morning surprised that this is actually our bedroom! The dark wood looks great up against the bright teal walls and has been a lot of fun.
All that’s left is to find new curtain rods so we can put our brown black-out curtains back up. (I am missing the black-out feature on the weekends when I sleep in!) And then we have to hang our things back up on the walls. But one step at a time! I need to get used to the furniture first and then decide on where the rest should go.
