This weekend. It was real good. My mom and dad came down from northern Ohio on Friday night and stayed with us until Sunday morning. It was a quick weekend filled with sleeping in, staying in PJs, eating donuts, talking, laughing, movies, eating Chinese take away, and shopping. We jammed as much as we could into the short amount of time they were here, but it still felt relaxed and enjoyable, doing whatever came to mind that sounded fun.
One of the best perks of my parents coming this weekend was the donuts. Yes, the food. I am allergic to egg, and Tim Horton’s is one of the only places I have found that makes donuts without egg. Not to mention, I worked there from age 15 through my summer breaks from college. Needless to say, I am attached to Timmy Ho’s and will always be a loyal customer.
The Kentucky Theatre was playing Philomena so we went. And I won’t spoil anything by saying: TEAR. JERKER. It was such a great movie with beautiful scenery and wonderful characters that you just fall in love with. WHEW. Go see it, if you haven’t already.
Back to the food, since that’s really all I have left as evidence that this weekend even happened. I didn’t take my phone out much, to text or snap pictures, and maybe that’s a good thing. No picture evidence except the leftover Chinese containers at the bottom of my fridge. It was good Chinese food, too. Thanks Ma and Pops for heading down our way, even in the snow. Always good to have you here.
