We recently drove up to my parent’s house in Ohio to rendezvous with my whole family- mom, dad, sister, brother, and brother’s girlfriend. It was the first time we were meeting the g/f and so
we were on our best behavior we acted like we always do- a little crazy. But it was so good to fill an extra long weekend with good food, laughs, some shopping, and of course some local apple picking. Since the brother lives in LA, we only get to see him a few times a year which just magnifies our sibling crazy because we have so much to fit in. But it’s a good crazy, I assure you.
Now my fridge’s bottom right drawer is packed with apples that we picked from big apple trees that were a little Halloween-ish looking on a wet, cloudy day in northern Ohio. So every day at 5:45am when I’m packing our lunches for work, I reach into that drawer and smile and remember that great weekend when the whole family was together. So good.
