You heard about the baby shower decorations, the poofs, and the fabric banners. Now on to the main attraction: the food. The shower started at 10:30am, so it was almost at a brunchy hour. The menu- granola parfaits, build-your-own fruit pizza, broccoli breakfast bites, brownies with frosting, crackers and cheese, iced coffe, juice, and water. It was a good blend of sweets and salty with a little bit of something more substantial but not overboard. A good mix, if you will.
Thanks to my friend and around-the-corner neighbor, Kristin, for making the breakfast bites and brownies. She did a fabulous job and both items were a hit! She even made a few egg-free brownies to be sensitive to my allergy. What a gal.

There weren’t any awkward games or ice breakers like “guess what the gross brown stuff is in the diaper” or “whoever says ‘ cute’ has to give a clothespin to the mom-to-be”. I mean seriously, who comes up with this stuff? Can’t we just sit around and eat?! So instead we had a craft- a headband making station. So. Fun. Buy elastic, felt, buttons, pre-made flowers for those less-crafty guests, and put out a hot glue gun. Let the gals go to town and shower the mom-to-be with headbands for her little bundle of joy.
