Is it called “curb appeal” if you can’t actually see it from the curb? Not sure, but I am going to call it curb appeal anyway. I painted two more exterior doors to match our front door. Originally all three doors were painted tan/brown and weren’t in the best of shape. Lots of paint was chipped off and there were areas where different colored paint showed through. It was time to spruce up the shed door and the door in the carport.
Since we already had the purple paint left over from painting the front door and shutters, there wasn’t much prep for this project. (To see the front door project, click here) All I needed was a thought: “I think it’s time to paint those doors!” And that was that. I started by cleaning them off with a soapy, wet rag. Suffice it to say that the rag started white and was a different color by the time I was finished. Then I sanded the doors and got out most of the uneven wood and bubbled-up paint.
The doors were already looking better and I hadn’t even painted them yet! Then my favorite part, the taping. I love using blue painters tape to go all around the edges. It looks so messy when actually painting but when it’s ripped off it’s such a drastic difference- I just love it!
Then the second coat and I was done! I ripped the tape off and admired the work. Curb appeal project complete. One down, 100’s more to go.
