When we moved into our house, we borrowed a carpet cleaner from a friend, and Matt went to town cleaning all the carpet right after we signed the papers. We were off on the right foot, cleaning every baseboard, ceiling corner, and closet. It felt great. However, this was back in October. Since then, I feel like little stains have just jumped on our carpet. It may be due in part to our cute little puppy. She isn’t a puppy anymore, she is three. Wickett shouldn’t really be having accidents anymore, but she gets SUPER excited when any person comes to see her. ANY. PERSON. Seriously. She gets so excited, she lets out a little leak to let you know she cares. Lovely. But how can you not love that face?!
So I started thinking I might want to treat the stains that have popped up recently with something super strong. I love the smell of ammonia. Not in a weird way, but in a seriously-clean way. It just smells so clean. All I did was get a few items together and get to work. No scrubbing was needed- just spray some of my magical spot-spray, blot with a rag, and you are golden. Just mix two tablespoons ammonia with one cup HOT water. Really hot water. Then pour it all in a spray bottle.
This is where it gets really honest. I am about to show you a picture of a gross stain on my carpet. Seriously, gross. If you have a weak stomach, just stop reading now. Or just skip to the “after” picture and you will see no traces of the stain at all!!
And that’s it. The magic just happens. No need to wait around and let it soak in. Just spray, blot, and it’s gone. Isn’t that the best? You don’t have to comment and admit that you actually used it on the gross stains you have in your house, but I know you actually did.
