Over the weekend with the in-laws and my nephew (!! LOVE saying that !!) I did do some shopping. Surprise. Eliza, my sister-in-law, had the excuse of having to return a pair of boots, and took full advantage to go on a little shopping hunt for…. well, for anything! So we drove around to a few bargain stores, laughed about crazy things we saw and would never purchase. We finally decided to go back to the house (mainly because we were hungry… and as we all know, I get pretty hangry these days.) When we were leaving the shopping center we were in, I noticed something goldish/yellow. Of course I look at anything yellow thinking it could work in my living room. Really, anything yellow. I keep a piece of fabric from my curtains for this purpose exactly.
Naturally, I want to see what this yellow thing could be that I spy. So I jumped out of the car. Literally. This is kinda how it went:
Me: “AHH! That looks like the color of my curtains!”
Eliza: (still rolling to a stop) “What? I don’t see anything.”
Me: “It’s a yellow throw! I think it will match. I am going to go check it out!” I jump from the car.
Well, I am not sure what Eliza did, since I jumped out of the car to purchase this yellow throw that matched perfectly with my scrap of fabric from the curtains. Apparently, Eliza doesn’t call them “throws” she just calls them a blanket. Needless to say, she was a bit confused why I was jumping out of her car. So she parked and followed me in. I walk into a store (which will remained unnamed so I don’t get sued later… Who am I kidding? It was Kirkland’s.) and was almost knocked over by the smell. Not a bad smell, but a mixture of about every house scent ever made, plus some musky scent that shouldn’t be used ever again. Ever. I must have made a face, because the two pimply-faced high school boys behind the counter asked me if something was wrong. Nothing’s wrong- my nostrils are just on FIRE.
I purchased the throw (think blanket, Eliza) and got outta there before I started to take on the scent of the store. The total event took less than 2 minutes. Really, less than 2 minutes. It was the fastest purchase I have ever made for a throw. (It’s the first time I have bought a throw. This record will be hard to beat.) I know you are just DYING to see what it looks like. Here are the before and afters of my lovely couch.
