Today was the first day back to work after Christmas break at school. Wow, it was hard! I had to get up early (even set an alarm!) and wear real clothes. Basically the entire week and a half of break, I was laying around in sweat pants with my favorite dog on my lap.
One night I did wear semi-normal clothes, but only because we were going to the Christmas Eve service at our church, so I couldn’t wear sweat pants. Although, I did think about “dressing them up” for about 10 minutes.
While we were up at my parent’s house, we did a quick shopping trip to IKEA. And when I say quick, I mean in IKEA standards. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get in, shop, and get out. We did a little pit stop along the way in their cafeteria (with our snacks from home, of course.) It was a very successful trip. Almost too successful. The packages of chairs and tables and lamps almost didn’t fit in our car! YIKES! We were packed to the ceiling.
Matt was such a trooper to volunteer to come with my mom and me, but he survived. We did leave my parent’s house a few days before we had to go back to work. That way we could be productive around our house. So. Much. Fun. Why didn’t anyone tell us that being home-owners was so much fun?! It’s super over-whelming at times, but so much fun.
