I made these Oreo Truffles for my staff Christmas party last night. It was kinda a disaster. They turned out amazingly delicious! But how can you go wrong with Oreos, cream cheese, and milk chocolate?! My plan was to have them turn out fabulous, of course. It’s super easy to make these things- crush Oreos, mix with cream cheese, roll into balls, and dip in chocolate. I had never made them before but it sounded easy enough!
I melted the milk chocolate to dip the Oreos in and then melted some white chocolate to drizzle over so they looked fancy. Well, apparently you can melt chocolate too much because pretty soon the white chocolate formed back into a huge clumpy mess. So, there was no drizzle. I wanted them to turn out like this:
Mine turned out like this:
But, like I said, you can’t really go wrong with Oreos, cream cheese, and chocolate. They still tasted great. But, this left me with two pots of chocolate melted together and hardened back again in a clump. What to do?! I bought pretzel rods and the rest is history. New Christmas tradition!
